Legal and Ethical Issues

Mr Knight hates everything and is currently dying. The man is in a bad way. I feel bad for him having to try and tackle the impossible task of getting Louis to shut up.

Legal Issue - something identified within the project that could potentially lead to breaking the law if not addressed. For example a risk assessment is required for any filming.

Ethical Issue - something identified within the project that could potentially lead to complaints if not addressed. For example, a lack of diversity in an audio-visual product could lead to complaints that hurt the company involved.

The regulatory bodies are in Unit 1 and I do not wish to taint the individuality of Unit 2 by bringing them here unnecessarily. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Legal and Ethical Issues for the Brief:
Representation - in the advert and on the website, an effort should be made to represent the diversity of society, avoiding one gender or one race/ethnicity. Only having white young men, for example, could lead to widespread criticism. (ethical)

Health and Safety - in the advert, an effort should be made to ensure that cast and crew are safe in any/all locations. Risk assessments should be undertaken. (legal) Food needs to not be poisonous and any and all allergies need to be taken into consideration. You have to make sure that you don't hire any actors...

In other words, you need to make sure everyone's done DBS checks and such to make sure that, no no no, they're not criminals.

Also children are only allowed to work a certain number of hours.

Legal issues surrounding copyrighted music and such in the advert, as well as privacy - make sure all the actors have signed their souls away and any members of the public know they might be in the background if you're filming in public. If you're using private property you need it in writing from the owner that you're allowed to do the thing so they can't accuse you of trespassing.

Make sure the children in this advert aren't seen jumping between buildings, smoking and drinking (like Travis) because obviously this could be a bad influence towards youths and their impressionable hypodermic needle vulnerable minds.

Accuracy - every effort must be made to represent the product as accurately as possible.

Nobody's discriminated against on grounds of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, etc.
